Billionaires’ Morning Routine: What the Wealthy Do Before 8 A.M
Is having a morning routine important to becoming a billionaire? If so, what is the morning routine of the billionaires? A morning routine is important, and almost every billionaire has one. In this article, I want to share nine things billionaires do right after waking up. They are:
1. Beginning the Day with Water
2. Starting the Morning with Sunlight and Movement
3. Meditation
4. Planning and Prioritizing
5. Reading and Learning
6. Avoiding distractions
7. Deep work
8. Family Time
9. Nutritious breakfast
Before going into this let’s know about what time do billionaires wake up?
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, wakes up at 3:45 am; Jack Dorsey, former co-founder of X (Twitter) and Square, wakes up at 5:30 am. What I want to convey is that there is no fixed time when all billionaires wake up.
However, I can say that most billionaires wake up before 6:00 a.m. Waking up early is a common habit among billionaires. Now let’s see what they do after waking up early in the morning.
1. Beginning the Day with Water
Many billionaires start their mornings with water because they understand the importance of hydration better. Water boosts metabolism, washes out toxins accumulated during the night, and supports brain function. Even slight dehydration can cause major damage to brain functioning. Consequently, billionaires prioritize starting their day with water.
2. Starting the Morning with Sunlight and Movement
Elon Musk, who acknowledges that he is not a morning person, also includes lifting weights in his routine to gain momentum and maintain sharpness. According to Dr. Andrew Huberman, exposure to sunlight while exercising increases energy levels, enhances focus throughout the day, and modulates circadian rhythm.
It is generally sufficient to engage in activities such as walking for 20 to 30 minutes, jogging lightly, swimming, or participating in any other form of exercise that gives the body initial momentum.
3. Meditation
Why do these billionaires do meditation? They do it because meditation helps them stay calm and less anxious. In this distracted era, meditation helps individuals stay focused and calm.
Oprah Winfrey swears by regular meditation and has even made it a part of her office culture.
4. Planning and Prioritizing
Do you need a plan to succeed? Before responding, could you recall the last time you successfully completed a project without any plan? Probably “NO” is your answer. Highly successful people plan their day early in the morning according to their priorities.
MJ DeMarco’s book Unscripted emphasizes the importance of goal-setting and execution. He claims that dreams without deadlines are merely hopes. If you have the time, read the book—it hits hard.
5. Reading and Learning
Warren Buffett spends almost 80% of his day reading newspapers, books, and reports. Bill Gates reads roughly 50 books each year. Have you wondered why these multi-billionaires are reading books in this digital era? They read because books broaden thinking and inspire creativity.
In my personal opinion, books are like gold mines. Millionaire Fastlane is the book that inspired me a lot and helped me boost my online money-making idea. The best thing you can do for yourself is start reading books.
6. Avoiding distractions
According to the Samba Recovery website, the average attention span of a human is 8.25 seconds. We are in an era of mindless scrolling and unlimited social media distractions.
How to avoid these distractions? Simply stop using your phones early in the morning. Instead, read books as we mentioned above. This is what billionaires do.
7. Deep work
Deep work is nothing but focusing on tasks without distractions. Deep work helps people to produce high-quality results in less time; that’s why billionaires value deep work so much.
Bill Gates is famous for his “Think Weeks,” where he isolates himself for days to focus deeply on reading, reflection, and new ideas for Microsoft.
8. Family Time
Even in their busy schedule, billionaires plan family dinners and never ignore their family. But why do they do so? Because spending time with loved ones helps them recharge and stay connected to what truly matters beyond business.
Jeff Bezos says he never compromises on family dinners and believes maintaining strong relationships helps him make better decisions. So never ignore your loved ones.
9. Nutritious breakfast
Many billionaires start their day with a healthy breakfast because it fuels their body and mind for the day ahead. Eating foods like fruits, eggs, or oats gives steady energy and helps them stay focused. They know that a good breakfast is not just a meal, but it’s the first step to a productive day.
The Perfect Morning Routine to Become Highly Productive
A morning routine is something you build for yourself to achieve your goals or plans quickly. If you already have a morning routine, consider ways to enhance it; if you don’t have one, take a closer look at this morning routine that could help you.
My personal experience
In the early days of establishing a morning routine, it felt incredibly challenging for me; however, I gradually adapted to it over time. The major change I experienced is that the speed at which I complete my daily tasks is slowly increasing. Have a look at the table for a better idea about the impact of morning routines.
Conclusion:
Building a morning routine is the best decision I made in my life. I suggest everyone build their own morning routine in accordance with their goals. When you do things at the same time every day, your mind and body start to adapt, and it becomes a natural habit.
The only thing you need to do is start.
